About DevHow
Hey, I'm Atif — a student who spends way too much time in the terminal.
I started DevHow because I kept running into the same problem: most Linux tutorials online are either written for people who already know everything, or they're so outdated they don't work anymore. I wanted a place where someone completely new could actually follow along without getting lost.
So I started writing guides based on things I'm actively learning myself. If I struggled to figure something out, chances are someone else will too — and that's usually what ends up as a post here.
DevHow covers Linux, Bash, terminal tools, system customization, and occasionally Windows and macOS stuff. Nothing is sponsored, nothing is exaggerated. Just honest guides written by someone who's figuring it out alongside you.
Outside of this site I'm exploring Linux kernel internals, learning C, and building small open-source tools. You can find that work on my GitHub or check out my portfolio.
If something on this site helped you, or you found a mistake, feel free to reach out on X or Discord. I read everything.
